Skin preparation and removal guidelines are crucial to getting the best performance out of Breatheeze Performance Strips. Follow the information pamphlets that comes with your strips. For video references and tips, visit our Application Page.
Avoid Skin Irritation
To avoid skin irritation, remove the strip safely: loosen with warm water and gently peel back, keeping close to the skin. For sensitive skin, soak first or apply moisturizer or petroleum jelly. If irritation occurs, stop using the product and allow the skin to heal. This is especially important in winter when skin is drier and more sensitive.
Avoid Bruising
Bruising can occasionally occur if the nasal strip sits on the hard bridge of the nose for too long—especially for those with a sharper nose. To help prevent this:
1. Adjust placement: Apply the strip slightly lower to avoid the hard bone.
2. Gently bend the strip: This adds a curve for a better fit, reduces pressure on one point, and improves comfort.
Improve Adhesive Strength
Purchase the Extra Strength variant (black/white/pink) for the strongest hold. Our strips use a pressure-sensitive adhesive. Cleanse skin and remove any oil and product before applying. Avoid touching the adhesive, doing so can reduce stickiness by 30–50%. Hold and rub for 10–15 sec to heat up and activate the adhesive.
If using them for workouts, apply 20-30 minutes beforehand. This gives the adhesive time to properly bond to the skin before sweaty activities.
Sensitive Skin Users
Nasal Strips: Purchase the Clear Variant for a more gentle adhesion to sensitive skin or use for sleep/daily wear.
Mouth Tape: Before applying the tape, stick it to the back of a clean hand and peel it off. This will weaken the adhesive. You can repeat this step as much as needed, although once is usually enough. Doing this one time will reduce the adhesive strength by 30%.
